A couple years ago, I bought two new HP One thing I found strange about the is that you can't set the correct date and time through the BIOS. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment.

He tenido que mirar la fecha de los post para asegurarme de que no era un post desarchivado Espero que sea para cuatro cosas sueltas, porque si es para usarlo habitualmente Deja Windows al menos, y mete todos los service packs. Un saludo. As most of these devices were in their infancy around Win98 i don't think you'll have much success.

He is the ultimate Guru on this Topic and although it is no small task it may be just what the Doctor ordered The link is to another Forum that hosts his guide If you do go this route i highly suggest an image program such as Acronis for the finished product With a fresh image of the trimmed OS and drivers all running and installed you are 7 minutes away from a restore should anything go amiss Yeah, I've done most of the things he mentions.

Some new things in there though I can try. I've got it down to 1. I've read I can deleting the i folder which contains the driver library, or move it to the external, then just direct Windows there when it needs something or put in the CD. That'd free up another MB almost, but I'll leave that for now I think. While I'm smart enough to know how to do that, I don't think they are. Gonna see how much more I can trim off here. If I can do it with one of those could you tell me how to?

If not, do I need an external floppy drive because it doesn't seem to be one anywhere that I can see interanl floppy drive? With external dvdrw drive I try to go to bios F2 and try to boot windows 98 from there but nothing responded. Edited by paake, 25 May - PM. The OP says the hard drive has been replaced.

Therefore there will be no recovery partition. A lot of Windows 98 machines would have had separate CDs, as opposed to being on the hard drive. At this point without a cdrom, a floppy drive and not knowing if it will boot to a USB or flash drive I can't see any other way to correct this without contacting Dell.
